How To Add Fields And Columns To Quote Line Editor (Salesforce CPQ Volume 2)

Quote Line Editor allows users to see all the quote lines related to quotes and make changes across the entire quotes or to individual lines.

How to open Quote Line Editor?
  1. Go to Quotes Tab from App Launcher.
  2. Open any Quote.
  3. Click on the Edit Line button from the top right corner of the Quote Record Page.
Section 1:

The top section of the quote line editor contains several buttons that will help users to create or configure the Quote.

Add Products

This menu can contain standard buttons or custom actions that your Salesforce CPQ administrator created. It includes the following standard buttons by default:

  • Add Products: Go to the Product Lookup page and select products to add to your quote.
  • Add Favorites: Go to the Favorites page within the Product Lookup page, where you can add previously saved or shared favorite records to your quote.
  • Upgrade Assets: Choose assets to upgrade on your quote.
  • Renew Subscriptions: Renew your quote’s active subscriptions.

Calculate

Salesforce CPQ applies price calculations to your quote, including all relevant price rules and product rules. Click this button to recalculate your quote’s prices after you make changes.

Delete Lines

You can select several lines and then click this button to delete all the lines at once. You see this button only if your Salesforce CPQ administrator enabled it.

Groups

Add line item groups to your quote.

Quick Save

Save your quote line changes without leaving the quote line editor.

Reset Discounts

Reset all user-applied discounts.

Save

Save your quote line changes and return to the quote detail page.

Cancel

Return to the quote detail page without saving your changes.

Admin can also create CPQ custom actions and add those actions to this Section.

Section 2:

This Section (Quote Information) displays the field from your quote and if you make changes to any of these fields and then click on calculate the changes will be applied to complete.

You can also add your quote fields to these sections, below are the steps to add fields to these sections:

  1. Go to setup.
  2. Click on the object manager.
  3. Go to quote object.
  4. Click on Fieldset and then line editor.
  1. Add the field that you want to be available in this section.
  1. Click on Save.
  2.  The field will now be available in Quote Line Editor.
Section 3:

This Section displays all the quote lines related to the quote. The column shows the fields from the quote line and any changes made to these fields will be applied to the individual quote line.

You can also add a quote line field as a column by performing the below steps:

  1. Go to setup.
  2. Click on the object manager.
  3. Go to quote line object.
  4. Click on Fieldset and then line editor.
  1. Add the fields that you want to be available as a column.
  1. Click on Save.
  2. The field will now be available on Quote Line Editor.
